Sometimes, the best plan is no plan at all. At least that’s what John discovered on his most recent vacation to Mexico, where he found himself with no itinerary at all and decided to trust solely in the activities recommended by the Vacancy Rewards App.

On his first day in Playa del Carmen, and after checking in at his hotel, John dove right into the local food scene. The app recommended a taco tour, and he couldn’t resist.
“I always loved street food, and this was the perfect opportunity to dive into the vibrant local food scene, and since it was a walking experience I could also get to explore the town a bit and maybe get inspired for the days to come”
He savored a variety of tacos—from spicy al pastor to tangy ceviche tacos—all prepared by passionate local vendors. Undoubtedly, the perfect welcome to paradise on earth.
John decided to take it slow the next day by relaxing at a nearby beach club, and browsed through the rest of activities he had available for the next day. Ultimately he decided to take a day trip to Cozumel, which is just a 25 minute ferry ride from Playa del Carmen.
“The underwater world was breathtaking—vibrant coral reefs, schools of colorful fish, and an enchanting sense of weightlessness that made you feel like you were part of another world. I took it as a reminder of the beautiful surprises nature holds when you dare to explore beyond the surface”
On the night of his 4th day of vacation, John met his friend Sarah, who was also on vacation at Tulum and decided to meet for dinner. So he booked themselves tickets to the Cirque du Soleil JOIA where they enjoyed both a delicious 3 course dinner and a stunning live show.
“Sarah and I couldn’t stop laughing at the very end because when she asked me my thoughts on the show I replied: ‘Well, it reminded me of a well-crafted ad campaign: creativity, passion, and the perfect amount of risks”
